China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe to delight audiences at Emperors Palace
Aptly called My Dream, the show features a cast of talented performers all under the age of 18. These artists will dramatically illustrate the creative potential that lies at the heart of every person. The performers, with varying degrees of disability, impart their magic through unique dance and performances.
Performers with hearing impairments will ‘speak’ their minds through graceful and colourful dances; while artists with visual impairments depict their imaginary world with beautiful melodies and charming dance steps; whilst those with physical disabilities give expression to their pursuit of life, with elegant postures and spirited melodies.
The China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe was founded in 1987 in a mission to afford people living with disabilities a platform to express themselves in a special art. It brings forth new ideas independently that demonstrate the indomitability of the human spirit.
My Dream has travelled to more than 40 countries in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa. The troupe members have been referred to as “messengers of beauty and humanity” by the international community and as “a special art star of mankind and image ambassadors for 600 million people with disabilities in the world” by the Disabled People's International 6th World Assembly.
