Family fun for all at Fees van die Ganse. What’s good for the goose is good for everyone – the Fees van die Ganse invites male and female, laaitie and ouma alike! On the last weekend in June the annual Festival of the Geese will attract more than 10 000 visitors to Gansbaai - on the Danger Point Peninsula. The Festival of the Geese celebrates the origins of Gansbaai, and remembers the wild geese that used to flock to the freshwater spring located in the present day harbour.
Local is Lekker! The exciting programme offers something for everyone - entertainment for Africa (eeish!), various stalls to pick and choose from, kids entertainment, kaskar (go-cart) competition, sheep dog demonstration, 4x4 obstacle course, pet-show, fashion show, tea-garden, new route MTB fun ride, special seafood and fish braai, motor show, helicopter flips, golf competition, hiking in the fynbos up Duynefontein Mountain and lots more. Of course no fees would be complete without the ubiquitous beer tent! Look out for the Birkenhead Brewery Beer tasting. Artists performing at the festival include Luhann, Belinda, Dillon Lerm, Carla, Leon Carstens and Jamboree
Don't miss the Friday evening opskop with the Baardskeerdersbos Orkes. There will be plenty of seafood for rumbling tummies. Be sure to visit the unbelievable annual Winter Fynbos Show. The tannies in charge will again ensure an enjoyable and unforgettable tour through the region’s fynbos and mountains, all to be seen in one hall!
“Please make a huge note to visit this great annual gathering, with only one purpose in mind, and that is for everyone in all the communities to come and enjoy themselves, to eat, to drink, to chat and laugh with one another.”
